Information We Collect and How We Use It

By agreeing to participate as a RawData panelist, you will provide certain personal information to us through www.rawdata.com such as your name, address, email address, and demographics as well as samplings of the ambient sounds transmitted to us by the hardware we provide to you.  Internet activity will also be reported after you install our tracking agent on your computers.

Your participation in our program will help us better understand and measure people’s media usage patterns of people. Accordingly, you agree to allow, and accept responsibility for, RawData’s sampling of your ambient environment.

Joining This Panel

We use the information you collect as a panelist to research, analyze and better understand the listening interests and preferences of diverse audiences across the country.

Other Uses of Information

We may use the personal information you provide on your application for internal purposes. These purposes include market research, administration of our websites and compliance with our legal obligations, policies and procedures.

Information Collection

RawData collects samples from your immediate environment throughout the day as well as demographic information. These samples can be collected in a variety of formats ranging from recording ambient noises, internet cookies or other tracking agents, surveys, and other means. The samples are then combined with the demographic data.

Information We Share

From time to time, we may share non-personally identifying information you provide with third parties who perform services for us or with whom we contract for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. We will not sell or otherwise disclose your personal information, except as described here.

On occasion, we may also be required to disclose your information as required by law, pursuant to lawful requests such as subpoenas, court or agency orders, or when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect our rights or the rights of others, to avert harm to persons or property, or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity.

RawData destroys all samples collected in less than 24 hours, which means they may not be available even if requested.

We reserve the right to transfer any information we have about you in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets. Should such a sale or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee to use personal information you have provided through in your application or in communication with RawData in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Notice.
